Snow in mid-March

Amazing! A prolonged late-Winter thaw meant that most of our snow was gone a week ago. This morning, it was raining and 40 degrees. About an hour ago though, "Winter Storm Quinlan" arrived with heavy snow and screaming winds. It seems like mid-January again! I don't think we're going to see a huge amount of snow, but it is truly lovely while it lasts.


There will be no sap flow today - it wasn't cold enough last night and it certainly won't be warm enough this afternoon. Time to boil down our accumulated sap and prepare another batch of maple syrup...
